Our patients are our friends.
Your don’t have to be a friend to be our patient, but it helps.

Trevor Hartwell DDS
Dr. Trevor Hartwell grew up on “a big island,” not THE Big Island. His hometown of Grosse Ile, Michigan, which means “Big Island” in French, is located in the Detroit River. He began free diving as a child when he would drop tools off his small sailboat and need to dive to the lake bottom to retrieve them. These early experiences helped him develop free diving skills that allow him to dive past 140 feet and hold his breath for over five minutes.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Dr. Hartwell attended the University of Michigan for both undergraduate and dental school. His father was part of a notable graduating class and was classmates with Dr. Frank Sayre, a prominent figure on the Big Island. Since moving to the island, Dr. Hartwell has enjoyed mentorship from both Dr. Sayre and his father.
Dr. Hartwell’s wife, Sara, an accomplished real estate broker and BIC at Koa Realty, shares his love for family time. When not working, Trevor and Sara love taking their kids to the beach, where their boys are becoming adept swimmers, much to their delight.
Jacy Medina
Lead Dental Assistant
If you know Jacy, you know she’s smart, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to preserving the culture of this island.
She has been Dr Hartwell’s lead assistant and cultural liaison since 2014. In her free time, you can find her branding cattle, dancing hula with Kumu Micah Kamohoalii, or spending time with her family.

Marisa Lyman
Registered Dental Hygienist
Marisa, born and raised here, never left the state for school, having attended Kamehameha Kapālama and UH Manoa. Quiet until you get to know her, Marisa excels at making patients feel comfortable while providing excellent care.
In her free time, she remains a mystery—some say she spends it with her daughter and husband, while others believe she’s plotting to take over the world!

Amanda D’Amico
Registered Dental Hygienist
Amanda is one of our two hygienists. Gentle and calm by nature, she loves enjoying live music with her husband whenever possible. When she isn’t providing excellent care to her patients, she enjoys serving coffee and connecting with the community as a barista. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her training for a 10k or reminiscing about her roller derby days.

Jenny Fong
Dental Assistant
Jenny, our newest team member, is a second-generation dental assistant who fits perfectly with our style. A local girl with a country flair, she’s always singing along to the radio. When not at work, her young daughters keep her busy. On nice days, you can often find her at the beach!

Michelle Domingo
Dental Operations Manager
Since 2013, Michelle has brought extensive experience to our team, having worked remotely and with various dentists both in her state and on the mainland. In addition to her role at the dental practice, she supports her husband’s automobile repair company. Outside of work, Michelle cherishes time with her four children. When she’s not working, you can often find her going for walks with friends, always ready with a new joke to tell.

Charmaine Amaral
Front Office Coordinator
Meet Charmaine, our Front Desk Coordinator with a mind like a steel trap. Charmaine efficiently manages our front desk and brings valuable pharmaceutical knowledge to our team. Outside of work, she has a passion for karaoke and is the reigning office karaoke champion. If she’s not at work, she’s probably walking to the Wednesday farmers market to enjoy a cool watermelon slushy! (Or driving her daughter to play volleyball)
